Google knows !!

If i had written this article two months ago , it would have had an entirely different shape . I was, and still am one of those who is smitten by the power google delivers to your web experience . But one of the things, i saw while orkuting made me feel that ,our God of web was learning much more from 'The Devil's Advocate' (Microsoft) then we would like . What is it ? Doing anything for money. If you would have noticed , Google has started adding sponsered links ' to orkut communities . Just like Microsoft in the 90's couldn't resist using the 'fringe benefits' that came from dominating theoperating system market , in the same way, google is trying to use its successful services to 'influence' (don't go by this word literally it's just a diplomatic way of saying 'dominate') what we do on the internet . This small step shows google is ready to commercially exploit the success of orkut. Google using their special ,seemingly delicious, cookies have been tracking 'what i search' on the net . This very much private information if made available is definitely powerful for companies. Being on orkut ,google knows , what i am ready to tell only to my 'trusted group of friends' only.It knows my interests ,my friends ,my groups etc. Also if you have used gmail you would have noticed that ,advertisements you recieve are vey related to the mail. Google was for a lot of time ,helping me to surf the net efficiently,but it always was in a way , I like. Today google is everywhere telling me what to do . Whenever asked a question i couldn't answer , i always used to think ,well google knows . Today i exclaim with a bit of pain 'google knows' , yes google knows me .
